The Cottage
Tigh Ban Lek is a traditionally built stone and wood cottage and is in an area of dramatic natural scenic beauty. It is situated in the Traighuanie area, pronounced Tri-oo-ni and meaning Green Shore in Gaelic.

The detached house enjoys a prominent hillside location from where there are spectacular views south and west to Craobh Haven, Shuna, Luing, Scarba and Jura. On a clear day Islay can also be seen. This is a cottage with a difference, in a peaceful area surrounded by spectacular scenery
The house was built in the late 90's and has been carefully incorporated into the hillside. It is oriented to maximise the spectacular island views and seascapes which extend over 30 miles. It is a light and bright property with many full length windows allowing you to take full advantage of the views from both floors.
Ground Floor

There is a small entrance porch with hooks and space for outdoor clothing leading into the hallway. This provides access to both of the bedrooms within the property which have patio doors allowing direct access to the gardens. There is an additional W.C. which has a washer/dryer for guests to use (no washing powder provided). The area underneath the stairs provides a storage point for the travel cot and highchair.

Bedroom 1
​
The master bedroom has a king sized bed positioned to maximise the views upon waking. It has large built in wardrobes with mirrored doors and an additional chest of drawers for storage. The en-suite bathroom provides a bath with power shower over the bath and a heated tiled floor. It also provides plentiful storage for all your toiletries

Bedroom 2
​
This bedroom has a flexible layout and can be made up as twin beds or combined into a zip-link king size bed depending upon your requirements. There is an additional fold out bed for a child or small adult. It has a freestanding wardrobe and small set of drawers for storage. The en-suite bathroom provides a large shower cubicle with a power shower, a heated tiled floor and plentiful storage.

First Floor
​
This is a bright open space with patio doors both out to the back garden and onto the front balcony from where steps lead down onto the upper terrace area. This space allows you to enjoy the views whatever the weather and is furnished in a modern and comfortable style.
Kitchen
The kitchen comes well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer alongside many other standard kitchen accessories. It holds good quality cookware and plenty pans, crockery, glassware, utensils and cutlery are provided making it well equipped for the enthusiastic cook. Children's crockery is also provided for use as are plastic items for garden use on those summer days. The kitchen has a patio door which leads to the back garden.

Dining area
​
An oak dining table with six chairs provides a comfortable dining experience. A sideboard will contain place mats and coasters. There are also some board games for use on the days you don't want to leave the cottage. A stereo is situated in this area also with digital radio.

Living area
​
Two dark leather sofas give the living area a warm and comfortable feel. The gas stove in the corner provides an additional feature and cosy warmth for our winter visitors. The four seater sofa converts into a sofa bed which is a full short king bed size and easily sleeps two adults in comfort. A further two easy chairs are provided and can be easily relocated within the upstairs as required.

A flat screen TV with integrated DVD along with a number of books are available for your entertainment. We have provided a few DVD's but the collection is not extensive.
